Hampstead Norreys School was opened in 1987.  A further classroom was added in 2008.

The school has four classrooms, a library and a school hall, in addition to a staff room and administration offices.  Outside there is a large hard playground, two adventure playgrounds, an extensive field and a conservation area, including a pond.

The school is situated on the edge of the village, next door to the village hall and Deane playing fields.  The walk to the church is via a bridle path which runs alongside the grounds.

Hampstead Norreys is an inspirational and vibrant environment which fosters curiosity, responsibility and a desire for learning.

Our school:

  • develops the whole child;
  • promotes independence and confidence;
  • provides a safe and welcoming environment;
  • is an integral part of the local and wider community;
  • fosters a Christian attitude;
  • encourages learners to communicate with and respect others;
  • maximises potential through enrichment, challenge and personalised learning;
  • and above all equips our pupils to play an active role in today's global society.

The Local Authority (LA) is the admissions authority for our school.  Our admissions policy is to admit children to full-time education at the beginning of the Autumn term in the academic year in which their fifth birthday falls (1st September-31st August).  The Governing Body's policy does not allow colour, race gender, disability or social backgroud to affect its decision in the application of its admissions procedure.

Applying for a place - the LA should be consulted before seeking a place at Hampstead Norreys school.  They will supply information on availability of places.  An appointment with the Headteacher may then be made.

A school expression of interest should be filled in and returned as soon as possible.  A LA application form must also be completed.  Parents should note that completion of a school form does not guarantee a place at the school.  Places are allocated as laid down in the criteria given.  The LA notify allocated places.

Parents have a right of appeal if a place is not allocated and should contact the LA at:

Visits to the school - visits to the school are welcomed.  We prefer to show you around in curriculum time so you can talk to the children about their work.  Families are normally shown around by pupils after meeting the Headteacher.

Great Learning! Great Challenge! Great Fun!
