Our Environment

Nestled in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty our primary school is positioned in a truly unique environmental setting.  Surrounding the school are beautiful ancient mixed woodlands as well as a historical environment that includes the Hampstead Norreys Mott and Bailey, Perbrough Castle and the 12th Century Church, St Mary's.

This natural and historic environment is utilised by all classes.  For example every week, come rain or shine, Foundation Stage go on 'Forest Friday' experiencing a morning in the woods.  The children consolidate the learning they have done in class that week, solve problems, are creative and curious in a new way and above all enjoy the freedom the outdoors has to offer.  The River Pang, near the school, also provides a valuable learning resource.  The school also utilises other local assets such as the community shop, Living Rainforest, the Church as well as the interesting farms and properties where some of our families live.

The school benefits from extensive grounds, including an environmental area and a pond, where a grass snake and several slow worms have been spotted already this spring.  This enables our children to enjoy outdoor learning.  We also have a dedicated outdoor class room that enables our teachers to teach in this beautiful environment and utilise all the natural assets.

Our school, built in 1987, retains a modern feel through investment both in terms of the building as well as the learning environment.

Great Learning! Great Challenge! Great Fun!
